Welcome to the official New Zealand: North to South website!
So here I am, in London, with about two months to go before I start my walk. The pressure is mounting and I still have a lot to organise. This site is coming along, and for that I have to thank Oli Hale of Tower Bureau, who is kindly taking time out from a busy schedule to put it all together. I’ve had to create new email addresses and Youtube, Facebook and Twitter accounts. The donation section needs to be set up properly and the interactive map created. I’m in talks with potential sponsors and still have a lot of gear to sort out. Emails are flying around at a frantic pace.
Tonight I pack into my car and will be crossing The Channel early tomorrow morning. My main destination is Switzerland where I’ll be saying Hi and Bye to all my friends and family there. It’ll also be an excuse to lose myself in The Alps. I’ll also stop by Basle to meet with the BMF and talk about fundraising. On my way to and from Switzerland I’ll be seeing friends in Holland, Germany and France. Within a week of leaving I’ll be on my way back here to crack on with the planning.
Time to do some packing! Big thanks to everyone who’s been supportive so far. This is just the beginning of a very ambitious project and a lot more will be revealed in the near future.

Thanks so much for befriending! Look forward to reading all about it – off to a good start. Maybe see you, maybe not, before you go. Whichever, I trust you will have a wonderful adventure. xx
Good luck Max. Just read about Doug Wilson (75 yrs)who did it in a couple of months! Raising funds for Glaucoma Research (he is a Glaucoma sufferer). His comments, “it was a heck of a lot of walking!!!” From Sherry, Dominique’s kiwi friend in Tauranga. D will give you my contacts.
All the very best of luck – I would love to do a big trip in New Zealand one day.
